Chicken Pot Pie


I baked chicken pot pie last weekend. I made own pie crust from scratch. It's good to know what I put in when I cook myself. I was amazed to find how much butter I had to use, so I cut the amount half... still I used 8tbs of butter (1/2 cup) :( for making two chicken pot pies. Chicken pot pie turned out pretty good, but the crust was hard and dry.. (maybe I should have followed the recipe correctly?)

Daigaku-imo


This is my favorite Japanese snack called Daigaku-imo (Caramelized Sweet Potatoes). It's very easy to make. Just deep fry sweet potatoes and mix with caramelized sauce (honey, sugar, and soy sauce). I deep fried sweet potatoes too long which turned out brown. I tend to cook too long when I deep fry something because I don't want them to be uncooked. Anyways, Japanese sweet potatoes (Satsumaimo) are the best for this snack. I can't think of any other potato substitute.
